I, too, am in a season of "I just don't wanna be a mom today". Appreciate these book recommendations, as always!

This hit home to me while I was sitting on the sofa exhausted after a very fun and exciting and also incredibly frustrating and tiring vacation day at the beach with toddlers. When I read, I added A Day for Sandcastles to our library list and we just picked it up today. LOVED it and loved seeing how my daughter could help tell the story after dabbling her toes in sandcastle building for the first time two weeks ago. Thank you!

Isn’t it a sweet book about a day at the beach? I’m so glad you liked it! But also, feel you on an outing being both great and terrible. Parenting is so tricky!

Right?!? Sometimes that’s all we need for a good reset too! Easier when it isn’t 99 and muggy AF. Quick! To the pool!!

With you in solidarity Alexis. Last week was an everyday "I don't want to mom" fest. Now the sky is clearer and who knows what will happen tomorrow. Also, wonderful recs--can't wait to check them out.

So much solidarity. Today has been a DAY (seriously contemplated some yeeting and the fact that I didn’t is my superpower 😂😭). Stay strong and may the force be with us all 😅

Love that I’m always learning— for example had to Google yeeting! And yah, go you for holding it back! 🤣 sometimes I have to think “well, just like I tell my kids, it’s ok to hit a pillow, not to hit a person.” Ahhhhhh!!!!

You are doing the hardest work, Alexis. This shit is MINDBLOWINGLY difficult some days. It's not you, it's just the nature of it. Give yourself grace for being human and having your own needs and not being perfect -- just like you would, and do, for your kids. You're not alone. (I lose it over carseat buckles, literally and metaphorically, too.) Hang in there 🩷

Thanks!! It is so mind blowing in the simplicity of the difficulty. Appreciate your support and kindness, always. You are a superstar.
