Dang those kids and their love of sub-par animated films. Just kidding! It’s probably a lovely film but I’ve got some sort of deep-seated vendetta against (the lovely and adorable) Tom Hanks, so it is my burden to carry alone. 😂

I love how familiar those books looked and how you inherited them, and rightly so! Christmas has always been a special time and especially when I had little ones around. I’m fortunate enough to be living through it again by watching grandchildren grow up. Their excitement is palpable and I enjoy every minute of it. I need to stock up on my collection of Christmas books. I gave all of mine away!! ;-)

Holiday moving watching is a must in our house! A Christmas Story, The Polar Express (we also love the book) and Happy Feet (even though it's not necessarily a Christmas movie) are some of our favs! The Maywald Christmas lights in the Texas Hill Country is always on the list, It was so much fun with y'all last year! We make homemade Christmas decorations each year and it is lovely to see how they change as our boys grow!

Thanks for sharing! Home made decorations sounds so fun and I would love to see how these go! Are they the kind you keep for years to come? We will have to agree to disagree on watching The Polar Express 😜 but we would love to do the lights with you again this year!

They are to keep for years to come but we are not using any fancy materials, just lots of cardboard, lollipop sticks, pipe cleaners etc! There's disagreement in this house too about The Polar Express but is currently Rory's jam so we're going with it!

The little elf is cute! Great selection of classic Christmas books as well. One of our traditions is to bake loads of Christmas cookies with my mom one Saturday in December. We usually pack up tins to give as gifts to coworkers and friends. We've already started our holiday movie-watching. Over the weekend we watched Christmas Vacation and Elf!

Thank you! I love a good cookie baking party. Especially if you then get to use the massive amount of cookies as gifts 🎁 💕 . Christmas Vacation is one I’ve forgotten about! Worth a rewatch.

I love the absolute classics you suggested. Just seeing those beloved covers again transported me back to my own childhood.

Not a Xmas movie per se but when else are you going to find the mental bandwidth to really watch and enjoy the entire LOTR trilogy? The week between Xmas and New Years is our LOTR marathon week.

Thank you!!! I am so nostalgic about most of these books.

LOTR is such a perfect holiday movie extravaganza. Funnily enough, the last time I watched the entire trilogy was also in college...on a day when I was less inclined (shall we say) to get off the couch. 😂
